How to Make and Expanding Gate Fold Halloween Card

Kendra has an easy Expanding Gate Fold Card to share with us today with a Halloween theme using our 5734-03D Trick or Treat with Shadow Die, 5216-01D Bats and Spider Webs Die, 5216-02D Ghosts Die and our 36055 Jack O Lanterns ! Kendra also decided to use some cute paper from our 2003 Spook-Tacular 6×6 Paper Pad to create a kid inspired card! This is such a fun and easy fold, you just have to try it!

Cut a piece of black cardstock 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Along the 8 1/2″ side, score at 2″, 3 1/8″, 5 3/8″ and 6 1/2″. (See photo for folding)

Cut two pieces of owl/spider/web designer paper from the ‘2003 Spook-Tacular 6×6 Paper Pad‘ 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″. Adhere to each end panel of card base.
Cut one piece of orange and purple argyle designer paper from the ‘2003 Spook-Tacular 6×6 Paper Pad‘ 2″ x 5 1/4″. Die two half webs from the ‘5216-01D Bats and Spider Webs Die‘ from black cardstock. Adhere one to the top and one to the bottom of the argyle paper. Then adhere to center panel of card base.

Die cut the shadow layer from the ‘5734-03D Trick or Treat with Shadow Die‘ from a light purple paper and black cardstock. (You can just do the light purple if you wish, Kendra just wanted a little extra shadow behind some of the layer.) Adhere the purple layer on top of the black layer slight up and to the right. Die cut the sentiment layer from purple glitter paper. Adhere to shadow layer. Adhere to front card base panel on an angle with foam mounting tape.

Die cut a medium sized ghost from the ‘5216-02D Ghosts Die‘ from white cardstock. Adhere to the bottom right of the sentiment. (You can add paper behind the eyes and mouth if you’d like, but Kendra was able to take advantage of the pattern paper where she placed the ghost!)
Die cut the spider from the ‘5216-01D Bats and Spider Webs Die‘ from black cardstock. Adhere with a pop dot in the center of the ‘O’ in the die cut sentiment.

Finish card front by adding a purple rhinestone to each of the corners of the side panels.

Cut a piece of white cardstock 2″ x 5 1/4″.
Stamp the ‘Be careful beware Halloween is in the air’ sentiment from the ”36055 Jack O Lanterns‘ stamp set in black ink towards the top. Stamp a pumpkin image towards the bottom in black ink. Adhere to back center panel of card base.
