How to Use a Snowflake Cover Die to Make a Shaker Card

Shaker cards are so fun and interactive, and this Snowflake Cover Die creates the perfect winter setting for your shaker sequins.

Today, our designer Kendra is bringing a festive winter shaker card that is sure to delight. Kendra has been inspired by our recent ‘Boughs of Joy’ July Release to continue creating holiday cards. Before you know it, the holiday season will be upon us again. Kendra admits she is a huge sucker for snowflakes!! With the release of the ‘5828D Snowflake Cover Die‘ she was inspired to create a pretty holiday shaker card.

How to Use a Snowflake Cover Die to Make a Shaker Card
  • Kendra started by creating an A2 sized card base from white cardstock.
  • Die cut the ‘5828D Snowflake Cover Die‘ from a piece of white glittery cardstock. Adhere a piece of acetate to the back.
  • Add foam mounting tape to the back of the die cut around the edge.
  • Die cut all six of the snowflakes from the ‘5513-07D Snowflake Dies‘ from white glittery cardstock. Place in shaker window, glittery side down. Add other shaker bits to your liking. Adhere a piece of blue cardstock to window. Adhere to card base.
  • Die cut the 2.55″ ‘5029D Circle Scallop Die‘ from blue cardstock. Die cut the 2.31″ ‘5002D Classic Nested Circle Dies‘ from white glittery cardstock. Die cut the 2.125″ ‘5012D Nested Circle Small Stitch Die‘ from a piece of blue snowflake pattern paper from the ‘2303 Frozen Elegance‘. Adhere layers together. Adhere to the bottom right of card base.
  • Stamp the ‘Merry & Bright’ sentiment from the ‘37037 Christmas Bunnies‘ stamp set in black ink on a piece of white cardstock. Die cut with the coordinating ‘37037D Christmas Bunnies Coordinating Die‘. (Just a tip; sometimes it is easiest to die cut first, place a little adhesive behind and then put in your stamping platform and stamp the sentiment.) Adhere to the top right of your circle layers.
  • Stamp the bunny with presents from the ‘37037 Christmas Bunnies‘ stamp set. Color with alcohol markers. Die cut image with coordinating ‘37037D Christmas Bunnies Coordinating Die‘. Add to the bottom left of your circles with pop dots.
  • Finish card by adding gemstones below the sentiment.
