Add a tropical twist to your Mothers Day cards by using bold bright colors and our new Flower Bouquet Die.
Today’s stunning project comes from our designer, Lisa as she helps us kick off a month of inspiration featuring cards from occasions other than Birthdays. We know Mothers day is a ways off, but we just love having our ideas planned in advance. Pin for later if you need to remember this design later. It is still smack dab in the middle of winter, and we are all cold and looking forward to Spring. Lisa said “I’m in love with this new 5800d Flower Bouquet Die… it’s so pretty whether you just use the outline or fill it in with bright colors and perfect for so many occasions.” This card has so many intricate details, from the stenciled and foiled background, to the many decorative dies used, to the fun “Thanks for helping me grow” sentiment that plays well with florals, but is so true of our mothers figuratively and literally. Follow along as Lisa shows us how to recreate this bright floral card for Mothers Day.

How to make this card:
- I die cut the stitched rectangle from a green sheet out of the 2001 Autumn Leaves 6×6 Paper Pad
- I sprayed the back of the 4308 Flourish 6×6 stencil with Pixie Spray to hold down all of those beautiful fine lines and placed it over the green panel.
- Then I added Transfer Gel Duo through the stencil and set it aside to dry to tacky.
- While that was drying, the Flower Bouquet Die was cut from the green for the outline and then also from hot pink, yellow and orange… careful to save all those little pieces! I did the same with the smaller coordinating dies that come in the set.
- Next I flipped over the outline piece that I wanted to work with and added foam tape to the back… leaving the top protective layer on until I added it to the card.
- Then I flipped it back over and started laying my colored petals inside the outline.
- Finally for these pieces, I flipped them back over to add any additional foam tape necessary for good support.
- The sentiment from the 36033 Mothers Day Script 4×8 stamp set was stamped onto white cardstock with Fuschia Color Fuse Ink and then die cut with a oval from the 5030d Nested Scallop Oval Nested Dies
- An oval from the 5014d Nested Oval Small Stitch Dies and the smallest die from the 5600-02d Decorative Rectangle Die were cut from a metallic pink. (Be sure to save those little circles that are byproducts of the Decorative die!) The metallic oval was stacked over the decorate oval and then the sentiment oval was popped up onto that.
- I used the 5742d Vintage Alphabet Die set to cut the letters for Mom out of the metallic pink.
- When the green panel was tacky, I placed some green foil over the top and pressed down firmly with my Stencil Pal to make good contact.
- Finally all of my pieces were placed on top of the shiny background including those great extra dots cut from the metallic pink as embellishments!

That stencil background almost looks like velvet with its shine from the transfer gel and foil. The tropical color palette is so fun and really brings this Bright Floral Card for Mothers Day come to life. We really do love this new ‘Floral Bouquet set’ from the ‘Blissful Celebrations’ release.
