How to make this card:

  • To begin this card, Lisa trimmed a panel of watercolor paper to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.
  • She applied some antistatic powder to the water color panel.
  • Lisa stamped the floral using embossing ink and added gold embossing powder and heated it.
  • She then sprayed the panel with water to pre-wet it.
  • Lisa chose the Color Fuse inks in colors that coordinated with the challenge colors.
  • She smooshed ink onto an acrylic block and sprayed it with water.
  • Then smooshed the block onto the water color paper first in yellows and let it dry with a little help from a heat gun.
  • Once the yellow was dry, she did the same with blues and since she let the first layer dry, the inks didn’t turn green.
  • Lisa added more ink to the block and spritzed it and used a paintbrush to fill in the image with more colors and also added to the background until she was happy with the look.
  • Lisa filled in with some gold ink and then splattered it and then some blue over the top of the entire piece and set it aside to dry.
  • She cut the ‘5705D – Find Your Bliss Die‘ three times from yellow for the phrase and once in blue for the background.
  • She stacked the yellow phrase cuts and adhered them together for a dimensional look and adhered the phrase to the shadow background.
  • Foam tape was added to the back of the “Find Your Bliss” phrase with shadow and adhered to the water-colored panel.
  • The ‘5700-01 – Heart Bubble Die‘ was cut from gold cardstock and trimmed down to look like it was underneath the phrase, but she was able to move the top and bottom pieces around for the best positioning.
  • The panel was mounted onto a blue and then white piece of cardstock each 1/8″ larger than the one above it.
  • Sequins were added for a bit of bling!
