Mother’s Day is a heartfelt occasion that serves as a tribute to the incredible role that mothers play in our lives. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge the unwavering love, support, and selflessness that mothers shower upon their children. Dawn’s thoughtful gesture of creating a vibrant and cheerful card adorned with pre-colored flowers is a beautiful way to convey her deep affection and gratitude to her mother on this significant day. Follow along as we show how this gorgeous card was made.

  • To begin this card, Use the ‘2017 – Delightful Dahlia 6×6 Paper Pad‘, cut out with the coordinating die ‘2017D – Delightful Dahlia 6×6 Paper Pad Die‘ your flowers in the color you like.
  • Dawn used a sentiment from ‘3417 – Mother’s Day Set‘.
  • Stamp the sentiment on white card stock.
  • Dawn checked to make sure the sentiment would fit inside of the die.
  • Then cut out your sentiment with the smallest ‘5500-01D – Inside Scallop Frame Die
  • Next, pick out a background paper from the ‘2017 – Delightful Dahlia 6×6 Paper Pad‘.
  • In hindsight you don’t have to use the inside die to cut out your background paper just the outside die.
  • Dawn choose a pink that matches the paper for her mat.
  • The die will cut a scalloped border so to conserve paper she added the smaller one for her sentiment on the inside.
  • This is when she realized her sentiment and mat were too big so she cut it down to size.
  • Cut about an 1/8 of an inch around the white to give a nice frame.
  • She also double stacked her flowers to give them some more interest.
  • Now, take the pink border cut and add dimensional tape to the back to give your card some height.
  • Add dimensional tape to the back of the bottom flower and the top flower to give more interest and dimension.
  • Using the ‘5147-10D – Tiny Flower Buds Die‘ and ‘5162-03D – Small Ivy‘, cut the Ivy in green and the Tiny Flower Buds in pink. You will be adding these to your sentiment.
  • Dawn played with the placement on the sentiment and ended up cutting down a small piece of ivy.
  • Glue down the ivy and flower buds.
  • Now it’s time to add your sentiment to your card.
  • When adding the dimensional tape, make sure it will not hit the upraised pink scalloped border.
  • Dawn added some of the leaves from the Delightful Dahlia paper and also some ivy around the flowers.
  • Adhere all of the pieces together then adhere the completed panel to the card base and your card is complete.

This is such a beautiful card. The flowers are so vibrant and really stand out against the white background and dark pink borders. Just stunning! Be sure to visit Brass and Bliss on Instagram and Pinterest to see more amazing cards. As always, shop below.
