Mother’s Day is less than a month away and Julie is here today with a fun card that’s sure to make your mama smile! We are sure by now you are aware that Gnomes are all the rage! This cute little gnome girl on a background of dry embossed hearts is perfect for a Mother’s Day Card. It can also be used for as a Valentine’s Day card, an Anniversary, or a Birthday. We have some extra pictures here to show how the hearts were pushed out and the double heart border was used to create a lacy strip. Super fun card!

  • Julie started this card by coloring & die cutting the cute little gnome girl using ‘56023 – I Love You Gnomes Set‘ and coordinating die set ‘56023D – I Love You Gnomes Die‘. Julie used the Copic Marker colors as seen in the photo below
  • The background was made using glossy white paper and ‘Color Fuse – Sets #5. #6, #8, #10 Reinkers‘ dabbed onto a baby wipe, then swiped across the card stock.
  • The picture below is what the background looked like, along with the ‘5702D – Heart Background Die‘ and ‘5217D – Rectangle Combo OPC #4, the inside scallop frame. The pocket flap looking piece was die cut using part of ‘5523D – Twist and Pop Layer Die‘.
  • Instead of using ‘5702D – Heart Background Die‘ ‘to cut the baby wipe background, Julie placed the die on a rubber embossing mat and embossed the hearts instead. She wanted them to look puffed up so she put the die back onto the embossed background, lightly rubbed a piece of wax paper over it, and then used an embossing stylus to push the hearts out. The picture below shows what it looks like from the back side.
  • This is what the front of the background looked like after embossing.
  • Julie attached the white die cut hearts background and the inside scallop frame over it, leaving the sides mostly unattached, which is where she planned to put the greeting strip. To make the lacy heart strip, Julie die cut ‘5700-03D – Heart Border Die‘ on one side of a strip of lavender. Then she turned the die upside down, matching the points to the indentations on the cut row & cut it again.
  • The lacy heart stip was added above the greeting, on the pocket flap piece. The gnome was popped up just a bit to even her out, since half of her hat was on the layer below.

This cute gnome card will be a perfect for a Mother’s Day Card. Julie uses several techniques that add a great deal of detail that is very unique. Join Brass and Bliss on Instagram and Pinterest to see other amazing cards to dazzle any recipients.
