Masculine Card that looks like a braided belt by Brass and Bliss Craft Co.
  • Select two sheets from the ‘Java Good Time 6×6 Paper Pad‘. She went with two of the solid darker brown sheets from the pad. Her choice to use the solid colors from this pack was due to the light gloss they have. This gave the card a more realistic leather look that would have not been able to be achieved using a flat colored cardstock.
  • Die cut each sheet using the 5619D – Paver Cover Die. Be sure to place the die on the paper so that you have a decent scrap piece left. Later on you will use this scrap to create the mat for the stamped greeting. Also, be sure to place all the pieces from each color in their own tray. You will be left with two frames, so that you can create two backgrounds.
  • Take a sheet of your favorite double sided adhesive and remove the backing. Carefully place the one of the paver frames down on the exposed sticky side, then cut away the excess. Set aside the other frame for later.
  • For this next step you will incorporate both colors. If you plan to do the same, figure out your color pattern.
  • Using a jewel picker, start to place your pieces in the appropriate space according to your desired color pattern.
  • Once complete, you can start working on your greeting. Using the scrap piece that matches your frame, die cut the second to smallest die from ‘5003D Nested Rectangle Dies‘.
  • Using the happy birthday greeting from ‘3496-06 New Friends Floral stamp set’, stamp using Pecan ink. I used my Misti for proper alignment.
  • Next, using the third smallest die from ‘5003D Nested Rectangle Dies‘, die cut a gold foiled piece of paper. I used a brushed gold card stock because she was going to a brass belt buckle look.
  • Adhere your smaller rectangle with the stamped greeting onto the gold rectangle. Then add foam tape to the back.
  • Select a coordinating 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base. Remove the backing from your panel and carefully align and adhere to your card base.
  • Lastly, remove the backing from your stamped greeting and adhere to the center of the card.
