Gel Print Card-So Many Beautiful Reasons to Be Happy

Gel Printed Floral

We have an encouraging card full of Gel Printing and floral inspiration, that is sure to leave the recipient in awe!

Lisa’s sentiment ‘So Many Beautiful Reasons to Be Happy’ is really important for us all to remember. Lisa used another Gel Print for the card she created today. You can use heat to add foil to gel prints made from acrylic paint if they’re newer. The results are not predictable but there are ways to control the amount of foil. Lisa applied a used sheet of gold foil to this one at a medium temperature and was super happy with the results.

Follow along as Lisa takes us through the steps to make this beautiful card.

  • Die cut the base panel (Lisa used a Gel Print she made earlier) using ‘5013D – Nested Rectangle Small Stitched Die‘.
  • She layered the base panel over a green piece of cardstock and then placed the green over a white piece of cardstock.
  • Lisa die cut the beautiful fancy Diamond layer from the ‘5600-02D – Decorative Rectangle Die Set‘ out of gold glitter paper. Since the die cuts are delicate and the glitter paper is thick Lisa ran it through twice. You could also use a shim, but Lisa just left the die in place and ran it through a second time for easy removal of the pieces. Save the little circles that are cut out!.
  • Next, Lisa die cut some of the lavender stems from the ‘5611-09D – Spring Florals Die Set‘ out of white cardstock. These are easy to cut from those paper scraps you keep.
  • She used ‘Color Fuse Inks Sets #6 and #10‘ and detail blending brushes to add some color to the lavender.
  • Lisa die cut extra leaves from the ‘5709-02D – Spring Flowers Die‘, and a pretty swirl from the ‘5600-01D – Decorative Floral Circle Die‘ out of green cardstock.
  • She die cut the ‘5605-02D – Flower Bouquet Wrap Die‘ from a matte metallic gold cardstock.
  • Lisa adhered the flowers and foliage to the back of the bouquet wrap die cut with glue tape arranging them in various levels. She likes to have stems peeking out of the bottom of the bouquet and if they’re not quite long enough she will cut them off of the flowers so she can adhere them near the bottom of the die cut to do that.
  • Adhere the Diamond glitter paper piece to the gel print panel with glue tape.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the ‘35063 – Like A Flower Stamp Set‘ on a block of white cardstock using a stamp positioner.
  • Die cut the sentiment using one of the ‘5704D – Nested Tag Dies‘.
  • Pop up the sentiment onto the center of the glitter paper piece with foam tape.
  • Add foam tape to the back of the bouquet and position it around the sentiment.
  • Add sequins and remember those little circles that were leftover after die cutting your decorative gold piece?? Add a few of those too because why wouldn’t you?
